Will a universal remote work as well as the OEM one?
Yes. Xhorse universal remotes are designed to clone or replace OEM remotes on the same frequency, so range and behaviour match what you're used to.
Can you fix a remote that just isn't working?
Often it's a flat battery or a desync. I'll test frequency and battery first — if it's salvageable I'll say so before suggesting a replacement.
Do I need a remote at all on a modern car?
Strictly no — most cars still take a manual key turn — but living without remote locking on a daily driver gets old fast.
